Looking back now, on those years,
Did I shed, so many tears,
Allow myself, to fall apart,
And let them break my trusting heart?
Was I so fragile, fucking weak,
To cower down, so mild and meek?
Let their lying, thieving ways,
Break me, and my chosen days?
I stumbled, staggered, almost fell,
Into a hopeless, self-made hell.
And all the while, they watched, and smiled,
As all their lies, my wit, beguiled!
`Till then, I saw, was nigh too late,
They had no right, decide my fate!
It took some while, it took some-one,
To show, I could, again be strong
She came, and smiled, and took my hand,
She pulled me up, and helped me stand.
She made me pause, and realise,
My life had been, `till then, mere lies!
And so, my life, moves on, somehow,
With her beside me, stronger now.
She showed me love, made me believe,
My future lies, with Genevieve!
